The Casino de Montréal welcomes Joël Robuchon, the highest-rated chef in the world

His arrival contributes to positioning Montréal as a choice destination for gourmet diners from around the world

The Casino de Montréal is proud to welcome renowned chef Joël Robuchon, who will open a restaurant on the premises in the spring of 2016. Montrealers and visitors will be able to dine at L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, which will be located in the Casino’s Pavillon du Québec, to discover the gastronomic delights served up by the highest-rated chef in the world. In fact, his restaurants have earned no less than 25 Michelin Guide stars over the years.

L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon restaurants are present in cities on all continents: Paris, London, Hong Kong, Las Vegas and soon in New York, to name but a few. They all carry the same signature: a sublimely decorated venue, an open kitchen surrounded by a counter of approximately 70 seats, exceptional cuisine and a refined yet always friendly ambiance.

“The Casino de Montréal’s team is anxiously awaiting their turn to experience the world of a chef with undisputed culinary skills,” said Jean-Pierre Curtat, the Casino’s Executive Chef. The opening of L’Atelier marks the continuation of the Casino’s pursuit of excellence, as it has already been operating a Five-Diamond rated restaurant for some time.

Everyone at the Casino is delighted that Mr. Robuchon selected Montréal for his newest restaurant. Once again, the city will be attracting a world-renowned chef. The Casino will be taking the opportunity to develop a partnership with the Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec to train the next generation of high-caliber cordon bleus who will learn the techniques of the great master. In the coming weeks, the two institutions will work with Mr. Robuchon’s team to set the foundation of this partnership.
