Seats.io has released an advanced social distancing seat selection tool to assist with the reopening of the events industry and help rebuild consumer confidence.
Unlike static solutions that already exist, like blocking seats before showing the floor plan, the tool allows event organizers to apply social distancing rules in real-time when ticket buyers select their seats online. For instance, they can indicate how much social distancing is required for an event, depending on the location, or how many people in the same so-called social bubble can sit together.
When the seating plan opens in the web browser, the ticket buyer can pick any seat. Once selected, a number of other seats around it immediately become unavailable.
The system is unique in that it allows for maximum occupancy and, accordingly, revenue, while complying by social distancing rules. This is because the tool’s algorithm makes sure as few as possible seats are lost as a result of the selection by the ticket buyer.
Seats.io is an easy plug-in tool that can be integrated into any online ticketing system, without the need to replace any aspect of the core ticketing system.
