Sheraton Laval Unveils New Multimedia Studio for Hybrid Events

Facing the current economic crisis brought about by COVID-19, the Sheraton Laval Hotel has partnered with audiovisual and event production firm, Creativ Nation, to enable Quebec businesses of all sizes to bring large-scale interactive events to life for their employees, clients, partners and collaborators.

Together, they unveiled a multimedia studio at an event Aug. 18, that can be used to design hybrid events that allow both a physical and virtual presence of participants.

“It is not because physical gatherings are limited that we can no longer experience immersive and unifying events,” says Pierre Jean, president and CEO of Creativ Nation. “This is why we are proud to have created one of the largest multimedia production stages in the metropolitan region in one of our most beautiful event halls in Montreal.”

The studio in the hotel’s convention centre features a fully customizable 24-by-64-foot stage and several screens, including an eight-by-24-foot screen for the presentation of virtual participants.

The event, named Rethink, addressed common questions created by the pandemic, including what tomorrow’s new normal will be and how we can rethink human connections. It was hosted by comedian and moderator Mario Tessier, accompanied by the musical talents of singer-songwriter Frank Julien.
