Event Leadership Institute (ELI) has partnered with McVeigh Global Meetings and Events (MGME) to launch a mentoring program for business owners and operators seeking strategic support and guidance to navigate the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Event business owners, agencies and third-party suppliers went from a banner year in 2019 to a full ground stop of work in March,” says ELI founder, Howard Givner. “Now they’re scrambling for survival and resources to help them chart a path to come out of this crisis.”
Event professionals can apply to be matched with an experienced business owner for approximately two hours of complimentary coaching and consulting on their company, at times and formats mutually convenient to the two parties.
ELI encourages seasoned event company leaders who would like to give back to the industry to become a mentor. Applicants are asked to commit at least two hours of their time, free of charge, to their mentee, to be completed within one month of receiving their assignment.
The Business Owner Mentorship Program is led by MGME owner and CEO, Jeff Guberman. In addition to offering his time as a mentor, Guberman approves and oversees all other coaches in the program.
