New App Adds Real-Time Language Translation to Any Virtual Event Platform

Interprefy has launched a desktop app that allows real-time interpreting to be added to any virtual meeting and event.

“The new normal of connecting remotely offers an unprecedented opportunity for event organizers to attract a wider and more diverse audience, and to democratize access to the conversation by offering a truly multilingual experience where everybody listens and speaks in a language they’re proficient in,” says Interprefy CEO, Annett Polaszewski-Plath.

Interprefy Select can be used on any live streaming platform, including Zoom, GoToWebinar and Webex. Participants simply select their preferred audio language in the app alongside their event. As soon as the interpreter is speaking, the app will instantly auto-mute the original speaker to stream crystal-clear live interpreting with low to no latency while the event is ongoing. When the interpreter stops, the audio will immediately switch back to the original event audio.

“Providing real-time interpreting in a more scalable, flexible and affordable manner has become a crucial part of the new event landscape,” says COO Oddmund Braaten.

He adds that making this technology accessible to event organizers and attendees worldwide was a logical next step in the evolution of Interprefy’s remote simultaneous interpretation platform.

Interprefy Select is available via the Microsoft Windows app store and through the company’s website.
