Earth Day Event Spotlights the Most Sustainable Canadian Destinations

The Sustainable Events Forum will host a virtual celebration of Canadian event destinations to mark Earth Day on April 22.

Earth Day for Event People will shine a light on 10 of the most sustainable locations, as voted by attendees: St. John’s, Nfld., Halifax, Charlottetown, Montreal, Quebec City, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont., Banff, Alta., Vancouver, Victoria and Whitehorse.

Event professionals who host events in these destinations will make the case for their chosen nominee. Attendees will then have the opportunity to choose a champion.

Canadian Business for Social Responsibility executive director Leor Rotchild will co-host the second annual event. Attendees will also hear from the Climate Reality Project on the National Climate League and a new project, Climate Live.

Earth Day for Event People will be held 12-1:30 p.m. EDT. Registration is free via Eventbrite.

The Sustainable Events Forum was founded in 2019, by Candice Tulsieram and Natalie Lowe, with the goal of sparking ideas and motivating people to action on environmental and sustainable initiatives for events. Tulsieram is chief event strategist at Toronto-based 360 Events Inc. Lowe runs destination management and events company, Celebrate Niagara.
