A new campaign recently launched by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) calls on governments around the world to restart international travel and allow the world to “Reunite.”
The campaign showcases the importance international travel has on individuals and businesses, and will hopefully encourage travellers to share with the world the positive impact travel makes to their lives and mental well-being, said the press release.
“Reunite” will call on people from across the globe to share their own stories of how tourism has made a difference and changed their lives. This will be achieved through various social media channels.
WTTC believes that while travel and tourism makes a significant contribution to global economies, it also provides a way for individuals to connect, experience, and discover cultures around the world.
Virginia Messina, WTTC acting CEO, said, “Travel gives us memories which last a lifetime and the most amazing experiences to share, so we’re excited to launch a campaign that gets to the heart of what travel means to people. Travel and tourism has a hugely positive benefit upon the world, far beyond the immediate pleasure it brings to those able to explore and discover people, places, and amazing experiences for themselves. . . Through this campaign, we’re hoping to help kick-start the recovery of our sector through a truly worthwhile experience: reuniting with those who matter most to us.”
The “Reunite” campaign launched on June 7, 2021. The video is available on all social media channels, including the WTTC YouTube channel.
