Coast Hotels Adds Two Properties

Coast Hotels has added two properties by entering into a franchise agreement to convert the Pomeroy Inn Grimshaw, located in Grimshaw, Alberta to a Coast Hotels property – Coast Grimshaw Hotel & Suites. The hotel started welcoming guests under the Coast Hotels banner February 1, 2022. Coast Hotels is also pleased to announce that the Lakeview Inn Fort St. John will be converting to a Coast franchise, Coast Fort St. John Hotel effective March 1, 2022.

The Coast Grimshaw Hotel & Suites is a 63 room all‐suite hotel. Property amenities include a swimming pool, waterslide, fitness center, meeting space and a breakfast room which serves a complimentary hot continental breakfast. The hotel is ideally located in Grimshaw at the junction of Highway 2 and Highway 2A which is referred to as Mile Zero of the Mackenzie Highway, known as the starting point, that takes you to the Northwest Territories. Guests of the property will enjoy a comfortable stay, as well as easy access to key Grimshaw attractions and amenities ‐ within a couple of blocks.

“We’re really excited about this partnership, and the direction we’re taking the property, working with Coast Hotels. This is our second Coast Hotels property.” says Inderjit Nijjar the managing director of the hotel ownership. “We’ve always enjoyed a strong relationship with Coast Hotels and look forward to bringing Grimshaw to the Coast Hotels family.”

The Coast Fort St. John Hotel is a 72‐room property located centrally in downtown Fort St. John. Renovations will commence shortly to the lobby, fitness room, and all bedrooms. Other amenities include meeting space and a continental breakfast service. Whereas Grimshaw is at Mile Zero of the Mackenzie Highway, Fort St. John is at Mile 47 of the famed “Alaska Highway”.

The hotel is owned by Mundi Hotel Enterprises Inc., who will now have six Coast properties in their portfolio. Ron Mundi, the president and CEO commented “the profile of this property, and what is required to make the hotel succeed matched perfectly with what Coast Hotels the brand can bring to the table”. We look forward to continuing to grow the Mundi relationship with Coast.

Although both hotel properties are in different provinces, they’re both in “Peace River Country” and are approximately 225 kilometers or 2 ½ hours apart. “These two hotel additions to the Coast family extend our brand further into the north of B.C. and Alberta, giving our guests more Coast options in more Coast cities” says Mark Hope, vice president, development for Coast.
