Lindsay Murray and Amy Mosquera from Redstone Agency has been awarded the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE) 2022 Donna Mary Shaw Award for Emerging Leaders in the Association and Not-for-Profit industries. The award recognizes emerging not-for-profit professionals and helps to develop tomorrow’s association leaders by providing resources, education, and mentorship.
Being recognized by the CSAE community has been a highlight for Murray, one of Redstone’s account managers. “I’ve always respected CSAE and appreciated my membership. They have exposed me to opportunities such as networking, professional growth, and skill-development/volunteering – all of which has led me to association management. For this I truly appreciate the CSAE community and receiving this award from a community I respect makes me feel honoured and valued,” she said.
Murray is passionate about the not-for-profit sector and enjoys a challenge. She says that throughout her career, “one of the biggest challenges so far has been switching careers and going from business development to association management. A lot of skills are interchangeable, but I am growing my knowledge and developing new competencies I am proud of. I look forward to continuing to help non-profits and work on such diverse and interesting projects that only associations can provide.”
Mosquera, a senior account coordinator at Redstone, shares her excitement about the accomplishment, “I feel incredibly grateful and honored to be recognized as one of the four award recipients – it truly makes me feel like I’m doing something right. With the continued support from Redstone and now the assistance from CSAE, I look forward to continuing to learn and grow as a leader in the non-profit and association industries.”
When asked about what motivates her at work, she said, “Knowing that I’m improving the lives and careers of others through the work that I do, even just a little bit, is what motivates me.”
