Great Canadian Entertainment announced that its $1 billion, brand-new entertainment resort Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto will open this summer at the intersection of Highways 401 and 427.
Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto will be Canada’s largest destination casino resort, spanning 33 acres. It will feature a Vegas-style casino, 400-room hotel, 5,000-seat entertainment venue, new parkade, and multiple on-site dining options.
The existing Casino Woodbine will continue to operate with no interruption until Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto debuts its new, re-imagined destination.
“We see this as an unprecedented opportunity to introduce an entirely new, world-class experience in Canada that will bring together the best in casino gaming, exceptional live entertainment, dining, and accommodation in one very special place,” said Matthew Anfinson, chief executive officer, Great Canadian Entertainment. “We are very excited to reveal more about what this landmark destination will feature and what our guests can expect in the coming weeks, including the announcement of an opening date. This project has been several years in the making, and we are thrilled that we are close to bringing it to life.”
The company opened the 96,000 sq. ft. Pickering Casino in 2021 and the property’s adjoining hotel in January. The brand-new hotel’s 275 well-appointed guest rooms range from 388 sq ft to 775 sq ft, including 33 elegant and spacious suites with separate living space and 22 accessible rooms. The Pickering Casino’s 2,500-seat arena will open on April 26 with a special performance by Canada’s foremost adult-contemporary soft rocker, Bryan Adams.
Great Canadian Entertainment owns 25 gaming, entertainment and hospitality facilities in Ontario, British Columbia, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.
