Event and trade show marketing is a big investment for any business. To maximize your return, you’ll need to create a one of a kind display that engages show attendees and promotes your products or services.
To make the most of your next trade show event, we’ve put together a list of six tips to attract more visitors to your booth.
- Pick the right booth location
Some booth locations just naturally get more visitor traffic than others. Like booth spaces close to entrances or exits, near restrooms, or around food or drink vendors. But they won’t be available for long. To secure a high-traffic booth location, you’ll want to reserve your booth space as early as possible. Then share the show’s floor plan with your trade show designer to create the perfect display for your space.
- Focus on branding
There’s a reason why we see the swoosh and think of Nike, or the golden arches and think of McDonalds, and that’s because both businesses excel in their branding. Your trade show appearance should be no different. Keep your branding consistent throughout your booth by applying your logo, colours, and fonts to your display. Then think of how you can make your business’s branding more memorable. Maybe it’s a backlit graphic, a hanging sign, banner stands or wind flags, or even branded giveaways like tote bags or pens.
- Make it interactive
The more time a visitor spends in your booth, the better your odds are of capturing a lead or closing a sale. To keep attendees at your booth, give them something to do by adding an interactive element to your trade show display. You can keep visitors engaged with a game, spin-to-win contest, demonstration, or keynote speaker.
- Grab attention with lighting
Add lighting to really make your booth shine at your upcoming trade shows, and there are plenty of options to choose from. You can use backlighting to highlight your graphics or LED lights to show off products. Before investing in lighting, you’ll need to consult your exhibitor manual to make sure your display and lighting doesn’t violate any of the venue’s rules or regulations.
- Leave space for attendees to gather
To make your booth more inviting, make sure there’s ample space for attendees to move around and gather. Depending on your booth size, you may consider incorporating a small seating area to encourage visitors to take a load off.

Skyline Wealth converted one half of their trade show display into a presentation area with plenty of space for show attendees to sit and learn more about their services.
- Invest in professional trade show booth design
To bring your design vision to reality, partner with an experienced trade show design team. Professional designers will work with you to make sure your display aligns with your marketing objectives, fits your booth space, and is within your budget. They’ll help you convey your brand messaging and create a memorable display to help you turn new leads into life-long customers.
With the right space and strong booth design, you’ll create a trade show display that attracts and engages your target audience. To close the deal, you’ll need to hire and train event staff that can truly sell your goods and services.
