Porter Airlines announced two new route additions to its network. Flights are now available between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Victoria International Airport (YYJ) as well as Toronto and St John’s Airport (YYT).
Victoria is the second city in British Columbia that Porter serves with the new 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. The E195-E2 has the lowest fuel consumption per seat and per trip among its class, and is the quietest single-aisle jet flying today. The two-by-two configuration means no middle seats on any Porter flight. Service begins on September 20, 2023, with one daily roundtrip flight. Connecting flights with Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax and St. John’s will also be available.
Porter continues to expand its presence in Western Canada, now serving Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg and Victoria.
“Victoria is a great addition to our network and provides easy access to Vancouver Island. Travellers will appreciate Porter’s award-winning elevated economy experience, which is unmatched in the market today,” says Kevin Jackson, executive vice president and chief commercial officer, Porter Airlines. “Our emphasis is on high-quality service for every passenger – regardless of their fare class.”
Service on the Toronto to St John’s route begins September 7, 2023, with one daily non-stop roundtrip flight. The route will also connect Porter’s east coast network to its new west coast destinations via Toronto Pearson, including Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary and Winnipeg.
“St. John’s has been an important destination in our Eastern Canada network for many years. With the introduction of the E195 to our fleet and non-stop service to Toronto Pearson, Porter now connects St. John’s from coast to coast. ,” said Jackson. “St. John’s knows Porter provides a level of onboard service that is unmatched by any other carrier and we’re excited to now offer our elevated economy service for them to Toronto-Pearson and Western Canada. ”
St. John’s has been part of Porter’s network since 2009. Existing routings will continue with easy access to Halifax, Ottawa, Montreal and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, among others. This latest addition not only provides a non-stop route between Toronto and St. John’s, but also gives travellers the option of using both Toronto airports when flying with Porter between these destinations.
