Bosa Properties and the Listel Hospitality Group announced a strategic partnership for the redevelopment of the Listel Hotel Vancouver, located at 1300 Robson Street in Vancouver.
The partnership, structured as a 50/50 joint venture, will deliver urban renewal, and address the growing need for both hotel accommodations and purpose-built rental homes in Vancouver.
The project marks a significant departure from traditional redevelopment approaches, addressing demand from the Vancouver tourism sector and the housing market by integrating a hotel and rental housing within a single development.
“We’re very excited to announce our partnership with the Listel Hospitality Group, an experienced operator that brings a rich history of successfully managing hotels and restaurants across Vancouver and Whistler,” said Wayne Vickers, vice-president, partnerships, Bosa Properties.
The ambitious redevelopment project, designed by Henriquez Partners Architects, will transform the current 129-room hotel, renowned for its art-filled guest rooms and meeting facilities in Vancouver’s West End, into a bold urban destination. The new development will feature a podium and single tower with restaurant, 174 hotel rooms and 126 purpose-built rental homes; hotel rooms will occupy the lower portion of the tower and rental homes will be situated on the upper floors.
“I am incredibly proud of the role Listel plays and will continue to play in the Vancouver hotel market and economy,” said John Nicholson, vice-president, hotels and restaurant, Listel Hospitality Group. “Bosa Properties’ reputation for excellence and its track record of creating meaningful impact where it builds resonate with us, complementing our own commitment to our community, our employees and our industry.”
The Listel Hotel Vancouver will close its doors in November 2024, with demolition work commencing immediately afterward. Construction of the new development is scheduled to begin in September 2025, with an anticipated completion date in 2028.
