BCHA Top Talent Recognized at Gala


The BC Hotel Association (BCHA) announced the outstanding winners of the 2024 BCHA Awards of Excellence. Celebrated by industry peers and leaders at the BCHA Awards of Excellence Gala at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, this year’s winners represent the top talent in the hospitality sector in BC.

Among 22 esteemed finalists, seven individuals, businesses, and properties were honoured for their commitment to excellence in the industry.

“Reflecting on the remarkable achievements of the 2024 BCHA Awards of Excellence nominees, it’s clear that their contributions have not only elevated the provincial accommodation sector but have also propelled the entire industry forward,” said Ingrid Jarrett, president and CEO of the BC Hotel Association. “Celebrating the award winners in style capped off a hugely successful BCHA Summit at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler Resort, and I extend congratulations to each and every individual and property nominated.”

Bill Lewis, general manager of Victoria’s Magnolia Hotel & Spa was named Hotelier of the Year. He joined the Magnolia Hotel & Spa team in 2009. With more than 20 years of experience in a general manager role, Lewis has successfully built and led teams, grounded in excellence, that have achieved notable success and awards. The Magnolia Hotel & Spa is one of Canada’s leading boutique hotels, consistently named in annual travel awards by Travel + Leisure, Conde Nast Traveler and TripAdvisor. Most recently, the hotel achieved the coveted Biosphere Sustainable Certification for hotels, designed to help travellers identify hotels that are committed to sustainable and responsible business practices.
