The team at Inn at Laurel Point welcomes Navid Sariolghalam as managing director and general manager. Bringing more than 40 years of extensive experience in the hotel industry, Sariolghalam has worked throughout hotel operations, from guest services to executive leadership across Canada. He looks forward to continuing to enhance service offerings and guest experiences at Inn at Laurel Point.
Sariolghalam’s journey began as a valet at Le Meriden in Vancouver. He worked in various departments throughout the hotel to eventually becoming vice president of The Sutton Place Hotels.
“Small and thoughtful touches always play a big role in creating lasting memories,” he said, “and this philosophy extends to how we interact with our employees. Drawing from my diverse industry experiences, I value and empower each team member I work with.”
His humanistic leadership and passion for people has led him to provide ongoing support to local charitable fundraising initiatives in Vancouver, such as PALS Autism School, Canucks Ronald McDonald House, BC Children’s and BC Cancer. His commitment to giving back to the community aligns with the core values of Inn at Laurel Point as well as the hotel’s founders, Paul and Artie Arsens. Inspired by the hotel’s warmth and community-focused culture, Sariolghalam has relocated to Victoria from Vancouver and looks forward to becoming a part of this important community.
Sariolghalam takes over from outgoing general manager Eda Koot, who served nearly three years with the hotel.
As a social enterprise and the first carbon-neutral hotel in B.C., Inn at Laurel Point remains dedicated to sustainability efforts, community engagements, and bringing delight to guests and the local community.
