The Prince George Airport Authority has announced the development of a new hotel at the Prince George Airport (YXS).
The upcoming Prestige YXS hotel will feature 120 guest rooms and a range of amenities including a spa, gym, meeting spaces, and a guest lounge. In addition, the main floor will offer more than 12,000 square feet of potential lease space for additional amenities and services catering to both hotel guests and airport travelers.
The Prestige YXS project is spearheaded by Growth Hospitality Group, a leader in the Prince George hospitality sector for more than 20 years. Growth Hospitality has successfully developed and operated several notable properties, including the Prestige Treasure Cove Resort, Prestige Prince George Lodge, and Prestige Riverside Lodge in Quesnel.
“We are excited to bring another high-quality hotel to Prince George, and we believe the Prestige YXS will offer unparalleled convenience and comfort for travelers. This partnership with Prestige Hotels and Resorts and Lake Babine First Nation reflects our commitment to fostering local relationships and contributing to the community,” said Craig Briere, CEO of Growth Hospitality Group.
This project is a partnership between Growth Hospitality Group, Prestige Hotels and Resorts, and the Lake Babine First Nation. Prestige Hotels and Resorts, a family-owned company, will add this as their 20th hotel in their collection of 18 Prestige-branded properties and one Best Western, spanning 14 communities across B.C.
“The addition of Prestige YXS to Prince George Airport will significantly enhance the travel experience for our passengers. This hotel development aligns with our vision of providing exceptional services and amenities, making our airport a key hub for travelers,” said Gordon Duke, president and CEO of Prince George Airport Authority.
Construction is set to begin in April 2025, with the grand opening anticipated in Winter 2027.
