Tofino, B.C., crests the west coast of Vancouver Island, where vibrant fresh air, old-growth rainforest, and the roar of the Pacific Ocean sets the stage for your next corporate retreat or team-building event.
Tofino is the perfect destination for smaller, more exclusive groups seeking a memorable and productive experience. When it comes to choosing a venue, there are several outstanding locations offering tranquility and unparalleled ocean views or rainforest seclusion. Here, we explore the possibilities:
Tin Wis Best Western Resort
Located within Tla-o-qui-aht Ḥaaḥuułi and the Tla-o-qui-aht Tribal Parks, the Indigenous-owned Tin Wis takes its name from the Tla-o-qui-aht word ‘tinuwis’ meaning calm beach. Eighty-five ocean-viewed rooms offer guests a retreat while acknowledging the importance of the ancestral native lands on which the resort was built. Offering the largest of event spaces in Tofino, the Tin Wis’ Wickaninnish Conference Hall accommodates up to 200 guests. For a more intimate meeting space, the Muu-Chin-Ink Meeting Room is available for up to 30 guests. For groups of up to 20 people, the Auht-Liyu Meeting Room can be enjoyed. The Tin Wis Best Western Resort aims to help visitors understand and fully appreciate the importance of the home of the Tla-o-qui-aht people.
Wickaninnish Inn
The Wickaninnish Inn, or “The Wick,” is a luxurious Relais & Châteaux property offering various event spaces for groups of up to 60. The Salal Room in the Pointe Building is the largest, offering a versatile space capable of accommodating up to 40 guests. With direct balcony access to the Pointe Building, the Shoreline Terrace can be booked alone or in conjunction with the Salal Room to accommodate a further 20 guests.
Beneath The Pointe Restaurant, Howard’s Wine Cellar offers an immersive experience where up to 20 guests can enjoy a variety of vintage wines while enjoying the cellar’s climate-controlled environment. Finally, the Swordfern Boardroom in the Beach Building offers a secluded, confidential setting with stunning views of the shore.
Long Beach Lodge Resort
On Cox Bay, Long Beach Lodge Resort spans 8 acres of oceanfront and offers 41 lodge-style rooms and a total of 20, 6-person cottages beneath the shade of ancient trees. The Lodge’s Rainforest Function Room is packed with multimedia conveniences including a 10-foot retractable ceiling screen, and best-suited to groups of up to 30 guests. Enjoy breathtaking sunsets and the soothing sounds of the ocean while brainstorming with your team.
Shelter Waterfront
The Shelter Restaurant offers 1100-square feet of event space overlooking Tofino Inlet and Clayoquot Sound. Located on the waterfront, adjacent to Tofino Resort and Marina, the venue can accommodate up to 50 guests for a sit-down dinner or up to 70 guests for a standing reception. The Shelter is an event-only facility, meaning it is an ideal space for groups who are staying locally in accommodations without dedicated meeting rooms.
Beyond the Meeting Room
In addition to its exceptional venues, Tofino offers a wide range of activities to enhance your team-building experience. Explore the rugged coastline, hike through ancient forests, surf world-class waves, or simply relax on the beach. These outdoor adventures can help to foster creativity, collaboration, and a sense of camaraderie among your team.
