A Spotlight on Quebec City’s Venue Renovations

It’s the season for fresh venue styles, views, and amenities in Québec City. Despite the challenges of 2020, several meeting and event destinations have undergone renovations in their bid to offer meeting and event planners new reasons to explore old favourites.

Hotel Manoir Victoria, located in the heart of old Québec, is among the iconic venues to receive an upgrade. On June 23, 2020, the 4-star hotel revealed the results of a facility-wide renovation which included the full renovation of its meeting rooms, executive boardrooms, and networking areas. The new look includes contemporary updates, new lighting, modern amenities, and eye-catching features like an eight-foot fireplace and oversized fresco designed by Québec artist Guy St-Pierre.

“While the renovations remained true to the hotel’s classic contemporary design story, many of the changes pay tribute to the hotel’s fascinating 115-year history,” the venue states.

The iconic Hilton Québec is also getting a new look. Situated in the City’s core and just a quick walk from Old Québec, this venue is in the midst of a bold transformation representing one of the largest investments ever made in a single Canadian hotel.

“There is not one square foot of the hotel that will not be renovated,” says Gina Cuglietta, Director of Sales and Marketing for Hilton Québec. “The hotel’s design will be extremely modern, but steeped in Québécois heritage.”

The renovation is being led by LemayMichaud, a renowned local architectural firm. It includes installing a new exterior, massive infrastructure upgrades, and a complete redesign of its interior spaces (e.g., meeting rooms, accommodations, dining spaces, networking areas, etc.). All told, the new Hilton Québec will offer 22,328 of modern meeting space, 569 guest rooms, enhanced food and beverage experiences, and a décor inspired by Quebec City’s arts and culture.

At last check, the re-imagined Hilton Québec is slated to open on January 1, 2021.

“I definitely believe that our hotel will reflect how committed Hilton Québec is to delivering the ultimate guest experience that connects people and provides highly personalized services that today’s business travelers crave,” adds Cuglietta.

Lastly, big changes have come to Québec City Marriott Downtown. All 112 rooms and suites have revamped to provide a more modern, comfortable, and amenity-rich experience for guests. Additionally, the hotel has made revitalized its five meeting spaces while updating spaces throughout to better capture the character of Québec City.

“The Québec City Marriott Downtown is right in the heart of Old Québec, which brims with European charm,” says Mélissa Veilleux, Director of Sales and Marketing for the Québec City Marriott Downtown, noting, “We wanted our interior design to immerse guests in an ambiance that mirrors the warmth of the city.”

“We focused a lot on adding inventive, dynamic, and thoughtful details that we know Marriott clients will appreciate,” she adds.

With renovations complete, Veilleux looks forward to welcoming guests to a completely revitalized meeting and events venue in downtown Quebec City, adding, “This upgrade meant that we completely redesigned our hotel to cater to Marriott guests who have exacting standards and are looking for an elevated experience.”
