Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is undertaking a significant global renovation program. Currently, 20 per cent of the Fairmont portfolio is undergoing active transformation across the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia.
In Canada, active renovations include:
- Fairmont Pacific Rim (Vancouver): Bringing together the newly renovated Fairmont Spa, a fitness centre in partnership with HOUSE Concepts, Wish Dry Bar and MedLiv Medical Clinic, the club offers a fully integrated luxury wellness experience designed for movement, recovery, nourishment, mind and longevity. The newly elevated Forbes Five-Star spa experience has the addition of a Himalayan Salt Sauna, an intimate couples’ lounge and stone flooring throughout the space.
- Fairmont Chateau Laurier (Ottawa): An extensive guestroom and bathroom renovation program is now underway, with model room completion targeted for July 2026 and lobby renovations set for completion in December 2026.
- Fairmont Tremblant (Quebec): The hotel is completing a guestroom renovation program, with the unveiling of a new Presidential Suite set for fall 2026. Extending more than 1,200 sq. ft., the suite will feature a grand open-concept living space anchored by a fireplace, an elegant dining area, a master bedroom and a spa-inspired bathroom with double vanity, freestanding tub and oversized walk-in shower. The suite debuts alongside the completion of the resort’s wider guestroom renovation.
- Fairmont Waterfront (Vancouver): The first phase of Fairmont Waterfront’s four-year transformation is now complete, unveiling 96 renovated guestrooms. Renovations will continue this fall, with future phases including additional guestrooms, the lobby, ARC Restaurant + Bar, pool patio and Fairmont Gold.
- Fairmont Le Château Frontenac (Quebec): The hotel is embarking on a transformative expansion of its celebrated Fairmont Gold experience. The program will add 34 new Gold guestrooms alongside a full renovation of the Gold Lounge, growing the inventory from 70 to 104 rooms. A comprehensive renovation of 203 standard guestrooms and 13 suites will deliver refined architectural finishes and entirely renewed furnishings throughout, with completion targeted for 2028.
Recently completed properties in Canada include Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Jasper, Alta. and Fairmont Winnipeg in Manitoba.
Further transformations include Fairmont Banff Springs (conference centre renovation on track for February 2027); Fairmont Empress, Victoria (the historic Bengal re-opens as the hotel’s breakfast room); Fairmont Royal York, Toronto (a transformation of their East Retail Promenade is underway and will be unveiled later this year).
