Think Ottawa, a unique and influential program, is designed to bring more conferences and events to the city by supporting local industry Leaders in their conference bids. Leveraging a plethora of local knowledge enhances Ottawa’s appeal as a premier event destination and ensures bids stand out.
The Think Ottawa program is a strategic collaboration between Ottawa Tourism, Rogers Centre Ottawa (the city’s iconic meeting venue in the heart of downtown), and Invest Ottawa, the city’s high tech investment agency.
Think Ottawa offers a complimentary range of support for participating local Leaders including bid development, venue and accommodation support, government and community backing, financial assistance, and marketing and promotional materials. The program can help source pricing and availability for hotel accommodations and meeting space during the bidding process as well as connect local businesses with expertise in the region.
Since its launch in 2019, the program has successfully delivered extraordinary events and refreshed its branding in 2024 to better capture its dynamic and innovative spirit.

Local leaders who participate in the Think Ottawa program and help bring major business events to the city are celebrated at the annual Think Ottawa Gala, held at Rogers Centre Ottawa.
The prestigious event honours the Leaders who have brought high-impact events to the city, highlighting Ottawa’s excellence as a conference host.
This year’s Gala recognized 17 exceptional business events, ranging from a national conference on ending homelessness to the 4th International Negotiation on a Future Treaty for Plastic Pollution and a symposium on vehicle dynamics.
