Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler announced the appointment of Shiv Kappal as executive chef. In his new role, Kappal will lead all culinary operations including signature restaurant SIDECUT Steakhouse, Braidwood Tavern, and the resort’s evolving culinary program and innovative initiatives.
A Four Seasons veteran with more than 18 years of global experience, Kappal brings a spirit of creativity, leadership, and deep cultural curiosity to the Whistler team. From pre-opening kitchens in Mumbai and Abu Dhabi to luxury islands in the Maldives, his journey is a testament to Four Seasons commitment to excellence and talent development.
Kappal began his Four Seasons journey on the pre-opening team at Four Seasons Mumbai and quickly rose through the ranks with key roles at Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru, Doha, and Abu Dhabi, where he played a pivotal role in launching Café Milano. Most recently, he was the executive sous chef at Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru, overseeing five restaurants and the culinary programming for the private island.
Beyond the kitchen, Kappal is known for his adventurous spirit. He has travelled to more than 30 countries, always seeking culinary inspiration and new cultural experiences. While his free time in the Maldives was spent diving world-class reefs, he now looks forward to swapping fins for skis and embracing the alpine lifestyle. Joining him in Whistler is his wife, Prachi, with whom he shares this exciting new chapter.
With his bold culinary vision and passion for storytelling through food, Kappal is expected to lead Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler into a dynamic new era of culinary creativity.
